Platypus Bend Eco Retreat is located on our property - "Jindalee", located 25 kms east of Glen Innes.

The property is a mix of granite rocks, woodlands with areas of open grazing country.

The Severn River runs along our southern and eastern boundaries.

Our family has lived at "Jindalee" for the last 6 years.

During that time we have built two new homes which run on standalone solar power & we rely on the rain for our water supply.

We run cattle, a small mob of sheep and breed & ride Australian Stock horses.

We always had the idea of offering a unique, eco-retreat experience but it took us all of the six years for the dream to become a reality. John & I have been builder's for over 35 years, so of course, instead of building a standard box structure, or a tiny home we choose to build a structure with interest!

 

Our love of camping inspired us to design a building that gives all the of the enjoyment of the natural environment but in luxurious comfort.
