About Us
Platypus Bend Eco Retreat is nestled on our property, "Jindalee," just 25 km east of Glen Innes. The land is a beautiful blend of granite rock formations, woodlands, and open grazing areas, with the Severn River flowing along our southern and eastern boundaries.

Our family has called "Jindalee" home for the past six years. During that time, we've built two homes that run entirely on solar power and rely on rainwater for our supply. We raise cattle, a small flock of sheep, and breed and ride Australian Stock Horses.

While we always dreamed of offering a unique eco-retreat experience, it took us six years to bring that vision to life. With over 35 years of experience in building, John and I decided to think outside the box. Rather than creating a standard structure or tiny home, we chose to build something truly special and that's how Platypus Bend came to life.

Inspired by our love of camping, we designed a space that lets you enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings in the comfort of modern luxury.

We hope you enjoy our little slice of rugged nature as much as we do.
